Alec Rowe

Alec Rowe is a Program Officer at the Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York. IIE is a global leader in the international exchange of people and ideas, with particular emphasis on higher education. With established monitoring systems and offices around the world, IIE manages programs for the US Government as well as corporations and foundations. For the Partnership for Higher Education in Africa, Alec manages the PHEA Fund at IIE, providing administrative support for PHEA grants according to direction from the Executive Committee. Alec and his assistant Leong Pang communicate with PHEA beneficiaries, facilitate payments, monitor expenditure, and report to the Partnership foundations and the NYU office. Several of the Partnership foundations have programs with IIE apart from PHEA, and Alec also manages three international convening initiatives. Prior to joining IIE, Alec worked as Communications Coordinator for Helen Keller International and was a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Estonia. He has a B.A. in English from Colby College and a Master's in International Affairs from Columbia University.
