Educational Technology Initiative
The Educational Technology (or eLearning) Initiative supports interventions in up to seven selected African universities to make effective use of educational technologies to address some of the underlying challenges facing higher education on the continent. The project includes a strong focus on capacity development to initiate and sustain effective educational technology projects that impact on the nature and quality of the student learning experience and outcomes, as well as a focus on knowledge creation and dissemination across and between partner universities.
Part A of the project will comprise a year-long, comprehensive engagement process with identified institutions focused on:
- Providing learners with access to quality education and research opportunities;
- Building academics' capacity to teach effectively; and
- Enhancing the institutional management and administration necessary to support and enable teaching, learning, and research activities.
Part B will proceed based on the results of Part A. Identification of Part B participants and activities targeted for investment will be finalized through a consultative process involving the partner universities and managing institutions.
